Obituary for Shirley "Nan" Niece
Shirley Jean Niece, daughter of the late Edgar Absher and Lula Taulbee Absher was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, November 25, 1940 . She entered eternal life Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her residence in Whitco, Kentucky being seventy four years, three months, and thirteen days of age at the time of her passing. Shirley married Carfa Niece March 31, 1956 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to all that knew her. She was a devout Christian who loved to sing and serve the lord. She enjoyed many things, but spending time with her family and friends is what she cherished most. She is survived by her loving husband, Carfa Niece of Whitco, Kentucky. Two daughters, Kathy and husband Bobby Adams of Whitco, Kentucky and Tammy and husband Rodney Allen also of Whitco, Kentucky. One son, Jamie and wife Juda Niece of Jeremiah, Kentucky. Two brothers, Tommy and wife Pam Absher of Indianapolis, Indiana and Lawrence and wife Wilma Absher also of Indianapolis, Indiana. One sister, Karen Profitt of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Tammy Adams, April and husband Tim Cupp. Jacob Niece, Shirelyn and husband Chase Webb, Cassondra and husband Jesse Williamson and Katie Allen and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Sawyer, Jonathan and Noah and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Absher, Curtis Absher and Billy Absher. Three sisters, Elsie Brown, Clara Mae Absher and Irene Absher.
