Obituary for Shirley Ann Day
Shirley Ann Day, daughter of the late Theodore E. Standifer and Melda Gilley Standifer was born December 27, 1939 in Ice, Kentucky. She entered eternal life on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at her residence in Whitco, Kentucky being 84 years, five months and 9 days of age at the time of her passing.
Shirley married Charles Joseph Day on April 19, 1957 in Jonesboro, Virginia. He passed away February 22, 2024. Shirley enjoyed planting flowers, going to church. She was a member of the Easter Star Kester Chapter #54.
She is survived by a loving son, Charles Elbert Day (Stephanie) of Whitco, Kentucky, two daughters, Alicia Gail Cook (Wendell) of Colcon, Kentucky and Laura Anna Whitaker of Jenkins, Kentucky, a brother, David Hugh Standifer of Cumberland, Kentucky.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Brian Cook, Amy Cook - Combs, Deanna Whitaker, Savanna Whitaker, Joseph Day, Adam Day, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Edwards Standifer and Roy Glennon Standifer, three sisters, Audrey Hickerson, Mable Clapp and Pauline Odum
