Roy Doug Sturgill, son of the late Silas and Juanita Spangler Sturgill was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, January 23, 1958. He entered eternal life Monday, November 1, 2021 at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 64 years, 10 months and 11 days of age at the time of his passing.
Roy married Wanda Faye Sexton on October 28, 1977 in Clintwood, Virginia. He entered eternal life Monday, November 1, 2021 at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. loved being out in the mountains, gardening, hunting for dry land fish, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Sturgill of Little Collie, Kentucky. Four sons, Charlie (Nadene) Sturgill of Pikeville, Kentucky. James (Lexie) Sturgill of Winchester, Kentucky, Dalton Sturgill of Little Collie, Kentucky and Zachary Sturgill of Little Collie, Kentucky. A sister, Sheryl Fields of Little Collie, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by a son, Roy Sturgill and a grandson, Payton Sturgill.
