Obituary for Florence Sturgill
Florence Sturgill, daughter of the late Arthur Hicks and Martha (Wooten) Hicks was born in Ohio April 9, 1950. She entered eternal life Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky being 70 years, 3 months and 2 days of age at the time of her passing.
Florence married the late Jack (JD) Sturgill July 8, 1970. He passed away June 11, 2011. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. Florence enjoyed watching T.V. and working in her flowers.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Jackie (Odis) Jacobs of McRoberts, Kentucky. Three sons; Jimmy Smith of Louisville, Kentucky, John David Sturgill and Dennis Sturgill both of Whitesburg, Kentucky. One sister, Thelma West of Pennsylvania. A sister-in-law, Mary Hicks of Mayking, Kentucky. A niece, Romona Hicks of Mayking, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Florence was preceded in death by five brothers; Charles Hicks, Curt Hicks, Ray Hicks, Claude Hicks and Vernon Hicks.
