Obituary for Winifred Cook Meade
Winifred Cook Meade, daughter of the late Marion and Cinda Bentley Cook was born at Millstone, Kentucky, May 2, 1925. She entered eternal life Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Greg Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 94 years, 3 months and 28 days of age at the time of her passing.
Winifred was married to the late Jesse Meade, he passed away November 25, 1977. She was a loving mommy, grandmother, sister and a great friend to all that knew her. Winifred enjoyed reading, cooking, spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed fishing with her late husband.
She is survived by three daughters, Madonna (Terry) Sturgill of Neon, Kentucky, Jane (Jimbo) Breeding of Neon, Kentucky and Rhonda (Houshang) Zaheri of Morehead, Kentucky. Two sisters, Joy Venters of Richmond, Kentucky and Rose Martin of Louisville, Kentucky. A son-in-law, Johnny L. Johnson of Jackhorn, Kentucky. A daughter-in-law, Ann Meade of Nashville, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Layton, Gary Neal, Candace, Jimmy, Aimee, Melissa, Caroline, Melody, Jesse, Philip, Timothy, Amir and Andrew, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Winifred is preceded in death by a son, Gary Neal Meade. A daughter, Shelia Meade Johnson. Three sisters, Julia Wright, Lucille Murray and June Picklesimer. Two brothers, James "Sonny" Cook and Freddy Cook.
