Obituary for Willis "Yogi" Caudill

Willis R. Caudill, son of the late John P. and Pearlie Quillen Caudill was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on April 23, 1934. He entered eternal life on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.


Willis married to the late Doris Jean Caudill who passed away in 2001. Later he remarried Eva Cox Caudill in 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Eva Cox Caudill of Whitesburg, Kentucky. His loving daughters; Jean Ann Collins (Roger) of Nicholasville, Kentucky. Janet Aleene Paschal (Dan) of Lafayette, Tennessee. Also, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Angela K. Cox of Meador, West Virginia and a stepson, Bennett Dale Cox of Delbarton, West Virginia. Willis had numerous grandchildren including Beth (Jim), Hayley, Brande (BJ), Alex, Brandon, Little Ben, Kendra, and Kaden. He also had several great grandchildren, Madison, Mia, Lucas, Jacob, Kane, Gage, AJ, Bristol, Kerrah, and Bryson.


He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and great friend to all that knew him. Willis attended North Fork Baptist Church in Whitesburg. Willis was a hard worker all of his life and was employed at Childers Oil for 55 years.


Willis loved sports, especially Kentucky Wildcats and New York Yankees. He was called "Yogi" by family and friends from his love of Yogi Berra of the Yankees. He played baseball, basketball, softball, and football. He later went on to coach football with local youth leagues. He enjoyed watching westerns on television, and spending time with his beloved dog, Benji and his cat Smokey.


He was preceded in death by sisters; Ruby Berry, Genevieve Richardson, Aleene Palmer. He also had brothers; John P. Caudill Jr., Ruford Caudill, Granville Johnson, and Charles Caudill. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Collins.


Pallbearers will be family and friends.
