Obituary for Willie Spangler
Willie Spangler son of the late Tom and Belvia Hall Spangler was born July 11, 1937 in Lester, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence in Neon, Kentucky being 84 years, 4 months and 3 days of age at the time of his passing.
Willie married Patricia Sue Howell on March 24, 1956 in Clintwood, Virginia. He was well known throughout the area as a custom cabinet maker and master wood worker. He was a visionary in his craft. Willie was a devout Christian and was baptized at Millstone Missionary Baptist Church more than 40 years ago. He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels, Neon Lions Club and the Flyers Club. Willie loved playing music, playing his guitar, making his finest furniture, etc., for his kids, flying remote controlled planes, and spending time with his family and friends. Willie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia "Patty" Spangler of Neon, Kentucky, a son, Richard "Rick" (Carolyn) Spangler of Neon, Kentucky, one daughter, Diana E. (William Keith) Baker of Jabez, Kentucky, a daughter-in-law, Minnie Faye Spangler of Cullowhee, North Carolina, one brother, David Spangler of Hartsville, Indiana, three sisters; Judy Nelson of Martinsville, Indiana, Janice Spangler of Greenfield, Indiana, and Shirley (Bob) Bousman of Florence, Alabama.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jason, Tamera, Mira Roxanne, McKenzie, two great-grandchildren, Everett, Beckett, a special buddy, Clay Nickles and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Wayne Spangler.
