Obituary for Willaim "Banny" Belcher

William "Banny" Belcher, son of the late Homer Belcher and Nora Elkins Belcher, was born at Dorton, Kentucky on May 7, 1944. He entered eternal life Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital being 81 years, 2 months and 15 days of age at the time of his passing.


Banny worked in the coal mines for over 25 years. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator and logger. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Banny gave his life to the Lord in 1995 and was baptized on Easter Sunday in 1996. He attended the Neon Church of God. He was always ready to help others in need and loved to laugh and tell stories of the "good ole days".


He is survived by his wife, Shirley Belcher, of Jackhorn, Kentucky. Two daughters: Glenda (Tim) Coleman of Millstone, Kentucky and Charlene Belcher of Sebastin, Florida. One sister: Bonnie Wright of Dorton, Kentucky.


Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.


Banny was preceded in death by a sister: Dorothy Belcher, Three brothers: Douglas McArthur Belcher, Jerry Wayne Belcher and Ronnie Belcher and one son-in-law: Larry Trevis Hampton
