Obituary for Willa "Willie" Dean Halcomb
Willa "Willie" Dean Halcomb, daughter of the late John and Ellen Sexton Maggard was born in Van, Kentucky, January 24, 1932. She entered eternal life Friday, May 18, 2018 at her residence in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 86 years, 3 months and 24 days of age at the time of her passing.
Willa was married to the late Charles E. Halcomb. He passed away December 25, 2002. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and cooking for people. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend to all that knew her.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Jean Maggard, Rebecca Maggard and Charlene Halcomb all of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Two brothers, Denver Maggard of Somerset, Kentucky and Delmas Maggard of Seco, Kentucky. Three sisters, Yvonne Hesley of Loveland, Ohio, Shirley Combs and Cleta Gibson both of Isom, Kentucky.
Also surviving are three grandchildren, John, Sarah and Beth. Five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Sierra, Tyra, Jayden and Thomas. Six special friends, Larry Thomas, Allen Joseph, Geraldine Day, Carrie Bates, Laronda Adams, Janie Benton and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by one grandson, Richard "Charlie" Lark. One brother, Dempsey Maggard. Three sisters, Irene Meconi, Colene Frazier, Lois Stephens.
