Obituary for Velva "Mimmy" Bailey
Velva "Mimmy" Bailey, daughter of the late Archie and Herma Collins Sexton was born May 10, 1935 in Isom, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital being 86 years, 2 months and 26 days of age at the time of her passing.
She married Vanis "Punk" Bailey on March 6, 1957. He passed away December 27, 2007. Velva was a dedicated member of the Little Colly Pentecostal Church for nearly 40 years. She loved singing for the lord and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Vivian (Charlie) Combs of Isom, Kentucky. A son, Stephen (June) Bailey of Isom, Kentucky. Two granddaughters; Pam (Rex) Fronhapel and Zoe. One great granddaughter; Maddi. Three sisters; Rosa Breeding of Isom, Kentucky, Mary Pugh of Red Fox, Kentucky and Brenda Brown of West Liberty, Kentucky. One brother, Gary Joe Bennett.
Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles Lawton Sexton, Douglas Ray Sexton and Kenneth Reed Sexton. One sister, Wilma Jean Barnett.
