Obituary for Velma Slone
Obituary Velma Slone, daughter of the late Dock and Melissa Adams Shepherd was born November 18, 1943 in Letcher County, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Holstein Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee being 71 years, 7 months and 19 days of age at the time of her passing. She was married to Fred Slone who preceded her in death. Velma was a member of the Whitesburg Holiness Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. But most of all she loved going to church and spending time with her family, especially her great grand kids. She is survived by a son, David Keith (Debbie) Slone of Cowan, Kentucky. A daughter, Trecia K. Wooton of Campbranch, Kentucky. Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie "Doodle" Slone. Three brothers; Castel Shepherd, Arthur Shepherd and Astor Shepherd. Two sisters; Beulah Boggs and Ruby Maggard.
