Obituary for Velma Ison
Velma Ison, daughter of the late Jasper and Siller "Gilley" Ison was born on March 5, 1921 in Letcher County, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Monday, December 10, 2012 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 91 years, 9 months and 5 days of age at the time of her passing. She is survived by a niece, Forestine Stamper of Kingdom Come, Kentucky. One special great niece and caretaker Priscilla Kay Young of Jenkins, Kentucky. A special friend, Wanda Stamper. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by six brothers; John Ison, Arthur Ison, Irvin Ison, Marion Ison, Arlie Ison and Edgar Ison. Seven sisters; Bertha Ison, Eva Frazier, Dove Caudill, Mattie Tyler, Minnie Halcomb, Polly Ison and Rachel Ison.
