Obituary for Timothy Banks
Timothy Wayne Banks, was born on September 1, 1951, to the late Delzie and Jeanne Banks in Whitesburg, Kentucky. As a boy, he enjoyed visiting the neighbors and often laughed as he recalled eating at each of their houses for breakfast. He loved collecting funny books. At the age of 12 he moved with his family to Lynch, Kentucky. He was a proud Lynch Bulldog and graduated from Lynch High School in 1970. He loved to draw and did the artwork for the banner for the Lynch Bulldog Football Team to run through before the game. He loved collecting books, albums, and DVDs. And he loved taking pictures of his family.
Tim was a former employee of US Steel where he worked as an Engineer Assistant. He was also a proud Whitesburg Police Officer where he worked 1980-1999. He was a Former Fraternal Order Of Police Charter Member. And he was a Special Deputy from 1999-2022.
Tim was saved and baptized in July 2005.
Tim passed away on December 24, 2022, at Whitesburg ARH Hospital. He was blessed with 71 years on this Earth. He loved telling stories of his adventures and he loved his family with all his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Delzie and Jeanne Banks, his daughter, Amy Rachelle Banks and his sister, Charmaine Kelly.
He is survived by his daughter, Beth McCamish Shepard (Matt) of Oakboro, North Carolina; his longtime companion, Sharon Banks of Jenkins, Kentucky; his siblings, Juston (Belynda) Banks and Elmo (Peggy) Banks all of Cumberland, Kentucky; Daniel (Tammy) Banks of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Debra (Lowell) Dixon of Corbin, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren- Destiny, Savannah and Tilden and 4 great grandchildren. And nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
