Obituary for Thomas "TJ" Parsons
Thomas "T.J." Parsons, son of the late Wendell and Dora Caudill Parsons was born on June 4, 1934. He went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. T.J. passed peacefully with his loving family by his side.
T.J. was member of Millstone Methodist Church since 2011. He was also a coal operator with his brothers for years. T.J. loved spending time with his "special" grandson, Rickey "Will", teaching him how to fish and later teaching him all about boats, cars and trucks.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Bates Parsons; Step-grandson and "buddy", Rickey Wilford Niece, Step-grandson, Will Niece and wife Patience and children: Annistin, Wolfgang, Piper and Striker Niece of Wise, Virginia. Step-granddaughters, Stacy Niece Cunningham, Brianna Lawson and Taylor Cunningham of Blountville, Tennessee. Three brothers, Donnie and wife Dreama Parsons of Kingsport, Tennessee, Loyall and wife Lorine Parsons of Mayking, Kentucky and Dale and wife Maxine Parsons of Eolia, Kentucky. Two sisters, Ann Sayers of Eolia, Kentucky and Carolyn and husband Danny Boggs of Whitesburg, Kentucky.
Also surviving is a special friend "Pal" Dawson Cornett of Colson, Kentucky, Kathy Barnette of Wise, Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
T.J. was preceded in death by a brother, Parnell Parsons and sister, Lucille Blanton, step-children, Rickey Lynn Niece and Regina Kay Niece.
