It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thelma Caudill, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who departed this life on April 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Thelma was born on May 15, 1938 in Pippa Passes, KY and she lived a life filled with love, spunk and unwavering strength.
Known affectionately as “Little Grannie,” Thelma dedicated her life to her family, always putting their needs before her own. Her home was open to all, and her nurturing nature made her a pillar of support for her loved ones.
Thelma was an independent and strong woman, who through her faith in God had a knack for adapting and reinvented herself often throughout her life. Despite many an ornery thought, Thelma refused to give up her keys to the kingdom for anyone.
A passionate cook, Little Grannie enjoyed singing “How many biscuits can you eat this morning” while fixing up the world’s best biscuits and gravy. She delighted in snapping beans, picking berries, and gardening which filled many cabinets with delicious canned goods. Thelma could often be found sewing on beautiful quilts that now adorn the beds of many of her loved ones. Little Grannie enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and great grandchildren with many tall tales (including bloody bones) and funny jokes (you wanna hear a dirty story?). Her ability to create laughter while bringing joy to everyone around her created memories that will be cherished forever.
Thelma is survived by her loving children, Linda (John) Estill and Debbie Caudill, special friend Tony Corley, her cherished grandchildren, Holly(Billy) Dekock, Robert Caudill, Meghan (Nick) Jordan, Jon (Whitney)Estill and Olivia (Josh) Proffitt and beloved Great grandchildren Mason, Aaron, Madison, Keely, Reid, Landon, Rowan, Jayda, Jack, Ellie, Beckham and Benham. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Darrel Caudill, son Kelly Caudill and Granddaughter Kellie Renee Caudill, along with her Parents Dorcy and George Jacobs along with siblings Kelly, Garlie, Curtis, Frankie, Willis, Mary, Dixon, Maddie, Sadie and Wheeler.
Thelma Caudill will be deeply missed, but her spunky spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
