Obituary for Sue Bates
Sue Bates, daughter of the late Andy and Martha Bentley Isaac was born at Haymond, Kentucky, April 9, 1940. She entered eternal life Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 79 years, 3 months and 16 days of age at the time of her passing.
Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend to all that knew her. She was married to the late Sonny Bates. He passed away June 22, 1995. Sue enjoyed collecting ceramics and talking on the telephone. She was a devoted Christian for several years.
She is survived by her loving son, Sonny Lee "BoBo" (Donna) Bates of Thornton, Kentucky. One brother, Joe Can (Juanita) Isaac of Millstone, Kentucky.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Wendy Keeton, BJ Leedy, Ramona Baker, Brittney Maggard, Amber Caudill. Ten great-grandchildren, Hayden, Alex, Kylie, Caiden, Kaitlyn, Keelan, Jayden, Addison, Delilah and Logan. A great-great granddaughter, Avery. A special friend, Katherine Bentley. Her loving cat, Baby and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Sue was preceded in death by a daughter, Maranda Kay Sexton. Two sons, Kenneth Leedy and Billy Joe Leedy. Two grandsons, B.J. Bates and Andy Sexton. Two brothers, Archie Isaacs and Eligie Isaac.
