Obituary for Sara Ruth Shackleford
Sara Ruth Shackleford, daughter of the late John D. and Alta Adams Hampton was born April 7, 1934 in Dongola, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Brandenburg Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Brandenburg, Kentucky being 87 years, 3 months and 12 days of age at the time of her passing.
Sara was preceded in death by her loving husband Carroll H. Shackleford of 64 years. She enjoy cooking, gardening and a member of the Cowan home makers club.
She is survived by three daughters; Barbara S. Hughes of Cowan, Kentucky, Debra R. Shackleford of Ermine, Kentucky and Kathryn (James) Thissen of Vine Grove, Kentucky. Two sons; Dr. Donald (Mary Rose) Shackleford of Louisville, Kentucky and Ronald C. Shackleford of Cowan, Kentucky. One brother, John (Helen) Hampton of Idaho. Eight grandchildren; Drew and Stephen Shackleford, Sara (Patrick) Slone, Mary (Neil) Pike, Jolene (Jeff) Rethwisch, Jenna (Matthew) Caudill, Roy (Katie) Shortt and Candy Craft. Fifteen great grandchildren, Ariel Price, Mya and Carter Pike, Ty and Easton Rethwisch, Aiden, Charli and Amelia Caudill, Jayden, Aubrey, Harper, Isaac Ellie Mae Shortt, Destiny and Logan Slone.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Shackleford, one grandson, Oliver F. Shortt, three sisters; Tilda Robinson, Edith Caudill and Melvina Profitt. Three brothers, Edward "Ed", Garland and Kirby Hampton
