Obituary for Samuel Baker, Jr
Samuel "Sammy" Baker Jr. better known as Paps was born May 18, 1943 in Shelby Gap, Kentucky to Sam and Fannie Lucas Baker. He passed from this life at his home in Haymond, Kentucky on March 5, 2022 making his stay here on earth 78 years, 9 months and 7 days of age at the time of his passing.
Paps married Janet Meade on December 21, 1963 in Clintwood, Virginia. He is survived by two children; Reda (John) King and Mike Baker both of Haymond, Kentucky. Three grandchildren; Mayor Tiffany Craft of Whitesburg and Tyler King (Brooke) Hazard.Caden Baker from Jenkins. Two great grandchildren; Sammi Lauren Craft and Claire Winslow King.
He is also survived by a sister Christine Osborne of Pike County. Two brothers; Randall Baker of Pound, Virginia and Hubert Baker of Florida.
Other than his parents Paps was preceded in death by a sister Minerva Halcomb and a brother Hick Baker and a grandson-in-law James Wiley Craft.
