Obituary for Ruth Church
Ruth Church, 86 passed away on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023, in Whitesburg Kentucky. Her family was by her side. Ruth was born on October 5th, 1937, in Bowman Hollow in Eolia, Kentucky to Bruce and Ruby Maggard Lewis. Ruth was the oldest of 13 siblings. On July 9th, 1957, she married her true love, Carl. They were married 60 years when Carl passed away in 2017. Ruth was dedicated to raising and caring for her children and had a hand in raising all her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest treasure. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters: Jean Brock, and Cora Lee Sturgill, and her brother Myrel Lewis. She is survived by her children: Debbie (John L) Collins, Dennis (Maureen) Church and Carlene (Roy) Mullins, all of Eolia, Kentucky. Her Grandchildren: Waylon Church, Seth (Meredith) Collins, Lacy (Larry) Adams, Shiloh Collins, Machaela (Ryan) Lee, Malaya (Josh) Hampton, and Creed Mullins. Great Grandchildren: Madison, Damon, Piper, Carlyn, Parker, Ridge, Leland, Nora, MacCready, Hayes, and one on the way. Sisters: Carol Rayburn, Judy Collier, and Becky Frerichs. Brothers: Tom Lewis, Fairley Lewis, Joey Lewis, Lester Lewis, Chester Lewis, and Chester Lewis. Ruth is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews who mourn her passing.
