Obituary for Roger Dell Johnson

Roger Dell Johnson, son of the late Virnel and Margaret Vanover Johnson was born February 25, 1952 in Jenkins, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital being 67 years, 3 months and 6 days of age at the time of his passing.

Roger was married to Sheila Brown in Clintwood, Virginia in 1972. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. Roger sadly left behind a host of horsemen that were like his family. He was a member of the Jenkins Masonic Lodge No. 852 , President of the UMWA Local 1468. and attended the Hemphill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Johnson of Jenkins, Kentucky.Two sons;Brian(Misty)Johnson of Jenkins,Kentucky and Lee (Mistie) Johnson of Neon, Kentucky. A special daughter-in- law, Andrea (James) Yonts of Neon, Kentucky. Two brothers; Ralph (Bonnie) Johnson of Dandridge, Tennessee and Steve (Irma) Johnson of Amherst, Ohio. Three sisters; Shelia (Mickey) Gibson of Maryland, Dianna Ratliff and Jolene Elkins both of Jenkins, Kentucky.

Also surviving are four grandchildren. Kyra Johnson, Joby Johnson, Christopher Puckett and Brittany Sexton. One great grandchild, Drake Hall and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Roger was preceded in death by a sister, Sondra Browett.
