Peyton Forester Reynolds, son of the late James and Chelsie Hogg Reynolds was born in Ermine, Kentucky on February 2, 1945. He entered eternal life on February 16, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center, Hazard Kentucky at the age of 81.
Peyton was a graduate of Morehead State University and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky School of Law. He was a licensed attorney with the Kentucky Bar Association for over 50 years, and his career consisted of serving as the Commonwealth's Attorney of Letcher County, the Director of the Department of Public Advocacy, and in private practice. His career consisted of many accolades and accomplishments, including lifetime membership in the Kentucky Bar Association for outstanding professional achievement and the title of Senior Counselor. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Peyton served in the United States Army during Vietnam War. During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Ann (Whitaker) Reynolds of Mayking, Kentucky. Two children; Cyndee Reynolds Cain of Paris, Kentucky and Brad Peyton (Jessica) Reynolds of Kennesaw, Georgia. One sister; Elouise Delzer of Paintsville , Kentucky and one brother; Stuart (Sylvia) Reynolds of Mayking, Kentucky.
Also surviving are four granddaughters, Abigail Rhiannon (Tanner) Hodge, Erin Elizabeth Cain, Elise Ann Reynolds and Matilda Beth Reynolds and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, bother in law, Frank Delzer, niece, Susan Knight and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
