Obituary for Paul D. Brooks
Paul Dean Brooks passed from this life at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center on Friday, November 19,2021. Paul was one of a kind; he will never be forgotten, but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Paul was born on July 9, 1937 in the Apex Coal Camp, at Thornton, Kentucky to the late Hubert H. and Marie (Rogers) Brooks. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Jack Brooks, Ronald Brooks and Glenda Ann Sexton.
On July 31, 1965 Paul married Joyce Bates Brooks; and the two shared 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2015.
Paul Dean Brooks was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a long time member of the Mayking Baptist Church, and the Whitesburg Masonic Lodge.
Paul is survived by his three children and their families;
A son, Paul “Herky” Brooks
Grandson, Bucky (Caressa) Brooks, Great-Grandchildren, Preston, Briley, John Easton and Great-Great Granddaughter Livi.
Grandson, Paul (Reana) Brooks, Great-Grandchildren Cadon, Heidi and Carson.
Grandson, Jeremy Collins, Great Grandson Kanean.
Grandson, Tyler Collins, Great Grandchildren Meah and Carter.
A son, Phillip “Durand” Brooks and Daughter In Law Michelle, Grandsons Nick Brooks and Jacob Brooks.
A daughter, Misty Slone, Granddaughters, Caitie Slone and Taylor Slone. Waiting to greet his “Old Man” in Heaven was one grandson, David Scott Bates.
Along with those named above Paul leaves a host of other family and friends to remember him with love and laughter.
