Obituary for Opal Anderson
Opal Anderson, age 91, passed away at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky on March 25, 2023 with family by her side.
Opal was born August 23, 1931 at Democrat, Kentucky to Willie and Bridie Hammonds Collins. Opal married Ruben Anderson December 15, 1956. The had one son, Eddie Glenn Anderson.
Opal is survived by 2 grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan 2 great granddaughters; Haylee and Lilah, 1 daughter-in-law, Diana Anderson.
Opal is also survived by 1 sister, Mary Profitt of Fortville, Indiana; 2 brothers, Mayo Collins of Crab Orchard, West Virginia and Dale Collins (Peggy) of Red Fox, Kentucky, and a host of nieces and nieces and their families.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband Ruben, son Eddie Glenn, 2 brothers; Cherry and Stanford, Veda and Cora.
Opal spent all her life in the Democrat/Colson area. She loved her family and enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She loved green beans and actually raised her some at the age of 89.
