Obituary for Nada Darlene Sturgill
Darlene Sturgill, daughter of the late Carl Edward and Leona Boggs Brown was born at Oven Fork, Kentucky, February 19, 1942. She entered eternal life Friday, April 30, 2021 at the University Of Kentucky Hospice in Lexington, Kentucky being 79 years, 2 months and 11 days of age at the time of her passing.
Darlene was married to the late Winston Sturgill for over 50 years. He passed away December 3, 2012. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. Darlene was a member of the Eolia Baptist Church for 36 years where she enjoyed the music program and children's program. Darlene loved her God, family, friends and UK sports. Darlene worked for 25 years as a nutrition educator for UK Extension Service.
She is survived by a son, Paul David (Adrienne) Sturgill of Cromona, Kentucky. One daughter, Selena (Jim) Smith of Bryantsville, Kentucky. Two sisters; Lorene Sturgill of Tazwell, Tennessee and Carolyn Couch of Lancaster, Kentucky.
Also surviving are two granddaughters; Nikki Sturgill of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Ashley (Brandon) Lunsford of Phoenix, Arizona. Three great great grandsons; Ben Carr, Alex Carr, Cameron Gibson and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Mark Stephen Sturgill.
