Obituary for Morris Maggard
Morris Maggard, son of the late Hiram Maggard and Mary Davis Maggard was born March 19, 1922 in Letcher County, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Wednesday March 12, 2014 at his residence in Cowan, Kentucky being 91 years, 11 months and 24 days of age at the time of his passing. Morris married Della Mae Shearer February 13, 1946 in Perry County, Kentucky. He was a US Army veteran having served in World War II. He enjoyed fishing, working on A model cars, browsing Walmart, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Millstone Methodist Church in Millstone, Kentucky. He is survived by his loving wife, Della Mae Maggard of Cowan, Kentucky. Three daugters, Stella Louise Bates and husband Jesse of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Mary Katherine Wilson and husband Earnest of Van, Kentucky and Gwen Jones Saylor and husband Charles also of Van, Kentucky. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 13 great - grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Morris is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Maggard and James Tate Maggard.
