Obituary for Mark Ellis Gibson, Sr
Mark Ellis Gibson, son of the late Riley and Verna Amburgey Gibson passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017. He was born January 20, 1942.

Mark worked as coal miner for several years. He loved to play Rook and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Ellis (Brenda) Gibson Jr. of Seco, Kentucky and Emmitt (Bonnie) Gibson of Cowan, Kentucky. Three daughters; Verna Adams (Johnny Wells) of Blackey, Kentucky. Rena (Hoagie) Collins and Bertha Kiser both of Thornton, Kentucky. Twenty grandchildren and Thirty eight great grandchildren. Three brothers; Coman Gibson of Isom, Kentucky, Earl C. Gibson of Naples, Florida and Donnie Gibson of Bascam, Florida. Two sisters; Edith Morgan of Bascam, Florida and Charlotte Hall of Litt Carr, Kentucky.

Also surviving are two daughter-in-laws, Ellen Riley (wife of Wendell) and Thelma Sean Riley (wife of Allen) and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma McClain Gibson. Three stepsons; Coy Riley, Allen Riley and Wendell Riley. Two grandchildren. His parents, Riley and Verna Gibson. Four brothers, Cornelius Gibson, Ronnie J. Gibson, Wayne Gibson and Clifton Amburgey. Two sisters; Esbie Gibson and Brenda Gibson. One daughter-in-law, Judy Riley. Two son-in-laws; Paul Adams and Terry Kiser.
