Obituary for Marjorie Jeanette Sparks
Marjorie Jeanette Sparks passed from this life July 2 2021 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, being 84 years of age. She was born in Enoch, Ky., March 21, 1937, the last surviving child of Tom Scott and Flora (Riddle) Scott of McRoberts, Kentucky.
Jeanette resided in Letcher County, Kentucky her entire life. She was the widow of her beloved, Eugene Sparks, who passed by her side June 3, 2020, after more than 56 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Morehead State University and a Registered Nurse. She retired after teaching health education in the Letcher County Vocational School where she taught generations of the future healthcare professionals. All the while, she provided a life-time of care for her family.
She was a member of the White Shrine - Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church, which she loved dearly.
Preceding her in death was her son, Donald Lee Sparks, who gave her a grandson, Peyton Lee.
She is survived by her eldest son Rick (Jettie) Sparks and his daughters, Morgan and Marley. She is also survived by her youngest son David (Melanie) and his daughter Alexis Paige and grandchildren, Kevin and Kiara Holifield.
She proudly doted on her children and grandchildren and loved her family to
her last breath and beyond.
