Obituary for Lula Taylor Slone
Lula Slone, daughter of the late Ed Taylor and Ruby Crase Taylor was born in Millstone, Kentucky October 31, 1940. She entered eternal life Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 76 years 2 months and 11 days of age at the time of her passing.
She was married to Arvel Slone February 24, 1961 in Clintwood, Virginia. He preceded her in death July 30, 1990. Lula was a member of the Haymond Church of Christ for 27 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister to all that knew her.
She is survived by a son, Dwayne Slone of Mayking, Kentucky. Two daughters; Rhonda (Joe) Holbrook of Mayking, Kentucky. Ruby (Jeff) Breeding of Neon, Kentucky. Two brothers; Charles (Peggy) Taylor of Ohio and Jack (Martha) Taylor of Blackey, Kentucky. Four sisters; Cecilia (David) Garvin of Greenwood, Indiana, Maggie Smith of McRoberts, Kentucky, Donna (Gene) Turjan of Montana and Glemma Simmons of Florida. Four grandchildren; Joe Holbrook II, John Slone, Kayla Holbrook and Myka Slone. Five great grandchildren; Travis Holbrook, Josh Holbrook, Kaleb Holbrook, Kyler Holbrook and Alex Slone.
Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Holbrook. Three sisters; Lillian Taylor, Joda Mae Potter and Novella Sumpter. One brother, Emmitt Taylor.
