Obituary for Louise Shepherd
Louise Shepherd, daughter of the late Bill Howard and Cinda Fields Howard was born in Blackey, Kentucky April 30, 1935. She entered eternal life Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 81 years, and 9 days of age at the time of her passing.
Louise married Castel Shepherd May 8, 1954 in Letcher County, Kentucky. He passed away February 25, 2006. She was a member of the Cram Creek Pentecostal Church in Cram Creek, Kentucky. A former member of the Eastern Star # 54 and the White Shrine # 16 in Neon, Kentucky. Louise worked as a cashier for Dry Fork market for 18 years. She was also a grandmother at Cowan Elementary School for several years.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Carlos) Holbrook of Hazard, Kentucky, Carol (Randall) Day of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Pam Gardner and Rick Hyden of Wise, Virginia. One son, Jerry (Michele) Shepherd of Erlanger, Kentucky. Six brothers, Hillard Howard of Lady Lake, Florida, Charles Howard, Hubert Howard, Bobby Howard, Jack Howard all of Whitesburg, Kentucky and John Howard of Payne Gap, Kentucky. Five sisters, Oma Hatton of Sandlick, Kentucky, Betty Tyree and Kathleen Brock both of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Joann Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana and Judy Greene of Rutledge, Tennessee.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Zach Day and wife Gina, Destiny Banks, Lindsay Shepherd, Jacob Shepherd and Emily Thomas. Six great-grandchildren, Lillie, Kain, Gunner, Mini, Eli and Landon. A special friend, Nanetta Dingus, a special caregiver, Oma Lou Hale and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by a sister, Della Pennington and One brother, Eddie Howard.
