Obituary for Lora Craft Sexton
Lora Hall Craft Sexton, known to some as Mom, Granny, DeeDee, Lora Mae, Auntie Mae, and Big Lo, age 88, of Whitesburg, KY passed peacefully on December 30, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 23, 1930 at home in Pert Creek and was one of three triplet sisters. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Opal Hall. She raised her three boys, Mike, Mark, and Harold, by herself and she devoted her life to them. Over the years, Lora enjoyed hosting her family at her home for birthdays, holidays, and all other family gatherings and celebrations. She always looked forward to visiting with her siblings and especially the annual Hall family reunion. She enjoyed walking in her neighborhood and visiting her neighbors. Lora was a member of the Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church.
Lora is survived by her three sons and their wives, Mike and Tena Craft of Whitesburg, KY, Mark and Robin Craft of Whitesburg, KY, and Harold and Judy Craft of Whitesburg, KY; 7 grandchildren, Amy “Nikki” Blackburn (Jeremy), Jason Craft, Emily Hays (Nick), Mark Aaron Craft (Savanna), Alyshia Craft, Char-Leigh Arnold (Brandon), and Lori Craft; 2 great-grandchildren, Ava Tolliver and Connor Hays; one brother, Billy Joe Hall (Fern); and a host of extended family and friends that will mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Sexton; 4 sisters, Loretta Adams of Whitesburg, KY, Lillian Nease of Frankfort, KY, Lena Hall of Whitesburg, KY, and Betty Addington of Pleasureville, KY; one brother, Claude Hall of Whitesburg, KY.
