Obituary for Linda Kay Hampton

Linda Kaye Hampton, 67, of Millstone passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at her home.

Linda was one of 13 siblings, born April 9, 1956, to the late Kelly and Ida Casada Ballou. She met her future husband, Jeff, in the fourth grade. By their freshman year of high school, Jeff knew he was in love, but it took until junior year for him to convince Linda. They were graduated from Fleming Neon High School in 1974 and married September 20, 1975.

She was a loving mother to their three sons, and always enjoyed Sunday dinners around the table, sharing memories and laughter. Her favorite meal was steak, potatoes with fried onions, and 5 cheese-it had to be 5 cheese-Texas toast. She shared fresh vegetables grown in their large garden with neighbors, once she'd had a chance to model in photos along side them. She also took thousands of photographs, especially of nature and people she loved. Linda found the best deals while shopping, and dressed beautifully and always with modesty, even when riding her four wheeler.

Linda was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses September 9, 1979. She was well known in the community for her ministry, an activity she treasured more than forty years.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jeff, sons, Jeffrey Heath of Millstone, Jared Leif and wife Michelle of Sookeys Creek, and Ryan Cole and wife Beverly of Jenkins, and grandsons Gage, Keston and Zayden.

She is also survived by five brothers, Hayden Ballou and wife Georgeanna of Salina, Kansas, James Ballou and wife Jewell of Irvine, Eugene Ballou of Bill Moore Branch, Paul Ballou and wife Carolyn of Xenia, Ohio, and Ronnie Ballou and wife Marsha of Spout Springs; and two sisters, Elaine Polly of Bill Moore Branch and Minnie Faye Spangler of Cullowhee, N.C., and was preceded in death by sisters Christine Triplett and Mary Ann Cook, and brothers Kelly Ballou, Charles Ballou and Ray Arnold Ballou. Having belonged to such a large, loving family, she had many special relatives, too many to name here.

Visitation will be at Everidge Funeral Home Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 3 to 5 pm. A memorial service will begin at 5. Though Linda loved to watch flowers grow, a simple card or text message in lieu of flowers would be most appreciated by her family at this time.
