Obituary for Letcher Short
Letcher Short, son of the late Aloria Mullins Short and David Tivis Short was born in Jenkins, Kentucky, October 19, 1925. He entered eternal life Thursday, March 27, 2025 at his residence in Belton, South Carolina being 99 years, 5 months and 8 days of age at the time of his passing.
Letcher was married to the late Maerine Spencer Short. She passed away January 13, 2011. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and great friend to all that knew him. Letcher was a Veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II and a member of the Little Zion Old Regular Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Leanna Ison of Belton, South Carolina, a son, Ronald L. (Barbara) Short of greenfield, Indiana, a sister, Zella Mae "sis" Mullins of Pound, Virginia.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heather, Craig, Jason, Amanda, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Letcher was preceded in death by a grandson, Creed Ison, a brother Lexie Short, four sisters, Bonnie Mullins, Euthemia Mullins, Florence Mullins and Cloe Mullins.
