Kathleen "Kat" Miles Brock, daughter of the late Bill Howard and Cinda Fields Howard was born February 8, 1937 in Blackey, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Whitesburg, Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 79 years, 4 months and 27 days of age at the time of her passing.
Kat married Wayne Miles July 3, 1954. He passed away February 6, 1992. She later married Pastor Ernest Brock, October 29, 1999. She was a dedicated member of the Cram Creek Pentecostal Church in Cram Creek, Kentucky and stood by her husbands side as he was the pastor. She enjoyed singing and praising god and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Brock of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Three daughters, Deborah Kaye (Ron) Lester of Cowan, Kentucky. Sandi (Larry) Carroll of Louisville, Kentucky. Kathy (Ray) Sloce of Wise, Virginia. Two sons, Kenneth Wayne (Kim) Miles of Mayking, Kentucky and William Ballard "Barry" (Tracy) Miles of Cowan, Kentucky. Two step Daughters, Mary Lynn (Pat) Franks of Wise, Virginia and Barbara (Michael) Blair of Cumberland, Kentucky. One step son, Dewayne (Kelly) Brock of Athens, Alabama. Six brothers, Hubert Howard of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Hillard Howard of Lady Lake, Florida, John Howard of Payne Gap, Kentucky, Jack Howard, Charles Howard and Bobby Howard all of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Four sisters, Betty Tyree and Oma Hatton both of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Joann Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana and Judy Greene of Rutledge, Tennessee.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Derrick, Justin, Erica, Jarrod, Kenny, Sawyer, Hayden and Liam. 9 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Howard. Two sisters, Della Pennington and Louise Shepherd.
