Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Sturgill
Joseph "Joe" Sturgill, son of the late Arthur Sturgill and Maxeline Sandlin Sturgill was born August 27, 1953 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Monday, September 9, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 66 years and 13 days of age at the time of his passing.
Joe married Sherry Hollon Sturgill November 20, 1971 in Clintwood, Virginia. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a great friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed camping and front porch sitting drinking coffee and spending time with his family and friends and his dog Biscuit.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sherry Sturgill of Pert Creek, Kentucky. Three sons, Billy Joe Sturgill of Mayking, Kentucky, Gabriel Coate and Devon Blair both of Pert Creek, Kentucky. Three daughters, Michelle Quillen of Payne Gap, Kentucky, Danielle Sturgill and Tyra Carter both of Pert Creek, Kentucky. One brother, Dan Sturgill of Tiffin, Ohio. Two sisters, Mary Jane Clark of Tennessee, Armilda Hall of Tiffin, Ohio.
Also surviving are four grandchildrens, Morgan, Billy Joe II, Meghan and Michael. Five great-grandchildren, Stormie, Avery, Exavier, Aleigha and Miah and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
