Obituary for Jo Evelyn Spangler
JoEvelyn Holyfield Spangler, daughter of the late Jo Ann Holyfield Charles and Theodore Holyfield. JoEvelyn was born in Wise, Virginia on July 17. 1954. She entered eternal life on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Pikeville Medical Center after a long illness, being 62 years, 6 months and 2 days at the time of her passing.
JoEvelyn attended Jenkins High School where she played the clarinet. She was a member of the Stateline Apostolic Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the Douglas Day Post 152, and The Future Business Leaders of America. After graduating from the Letcher County Vocational School, She worked for Traveler’s Insurance Agency in Jenkins, Kentucky. She was a homemaker and a loving mother.
JoEvelyn is survived by one son, Richard (Tressa) Spangler of Little Robinson Creek; Kelly Spangler, of Whitesburg, Kentucky; one sister, Sylvia Skotnicki, of Ecorse, Michigan; 4 grandchildren: Alexandria Bolling, of Mayking, Kentucky; Keesha Corbiere of Little Robinson Creek, Kentucky; Albany Spangler of Whitesburg, Kentucky; and Brice Spangler of Little Robinson Creek Kentucky. She also leaves 3 nieces, 4 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Edgar Charles; and three brothers: Douglas, John Sherman, and Larry Mitchell Holyfield.
