Obituary for Jesse Wright
Jesse Wayne Wright, son of the late James and Leona Craft Wright was born August 28, 1942 in Roxana, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his residence in Payne Gap, Kentucky being 78 years, 11 months and 21 days of age at the time of his passing.
Jesse married Janice Esther King, June 20, 1962 in Haymond, Kentucky. He enjoyed playing golf and watching westerns and wrestling. Spending time with his family and friends is what he enjoyed most, especially his grandchildren who adored him and referred to him as "Poppy". He coached baseball for the Fleming Neon Pirates in 1991, a Kentucky Colonel and was the first president of the Neon area Jaycees, founding board member of the Fleming Neon Little League in 1982, also a board member of Skyview Park and was Rookie of the year and Agency manager of the year at Farm Bureau at Whitesburg, Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Esther Wright of Payne Gap, Kentucky. Four sons, Chad "Vickie" Wright, Mark "Ellena" Wright, Mike "Beth" Wright all of Jenkins, Kentucky and Chris "Stacy" Wright of Whitesburg, Kentucky. A daughter, Karen "Billy" Holbrook of Warsaw, Kentucky. Two brothers, Tom Wright and John Wright both of Jenkins, Kentucky. Three sisters, Polly Bittrich of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Glenna Matney of Brandenburg, Kentucky and Sheila Wright of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relative and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by three sisters, Jimmie Kay Adkins, Margaret Adams and Jane Bright.
