Obituary for James Sturgill
James Sturgill, son of the late Jackson Sturgill and Genieve Turner Sturgill was born in Letcher County, Kentucky June 17, 1950. He entered eternal life Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 62 years, 2 months, and 8 days of age at the time of his passing. James married Vertie Huff on July 10, 1971 in Clintwood, Virginia. He enjoyed going to church and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Faith Community Church in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He is survived by his loving wife, Vertie Sturgill of Kingscreek, Kentucky. Two daughters; Jennifer Sturgill of Leatherwood, Kentucky and Katherine Sexton of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Four sons; James Sturgill, Jr of Kingscreek, Kentucky, Stacy Sturgill of Craft Colly, Kentucky, Charles Sturgill of Isom, Kentucky, and Jack Sturgill of Jenkins, Kentucky. One sister, Sonural Sturgill of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Also surviving are six grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. James is preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Sturgill and Jackie Sturgill.
