Obituary for James "Joe" Bentley
James "Joe" Bentley, son of the late Otho and Nancy Alice Hall Bentley was born in Millstone, Kentucky August 22, 1928. He entered eternal life Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 88 years, 1 month and 6 days of age at the time of his passing.
Joe was married to the late Alma Henrickson Bentley February 20, 1949. She passed away February 20, 1995. He then married Doris Gibson Bentley November 11, 1995. He was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him. Joe was a member of the Whitesburg Masonic Lodge #754 and a veteran having served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Bentley of Millstone, Kentucky. A son, Kris Bentley of Dallas, Texas. One step-son, Tim (Laura) Quillen of North Port, Florida. Two sons; Anthony (Debbie) Kiser of Lexington, Kentucky and Mary Quillen of Millstone, Kentucky. Three brothers; Jimmy Bentley of Cleveland, Ohio, Freddie (Gracie) Bentley of Vandelia, Ohio and Jerry (Rose) Bentley of Millstone, Kentucky.
Also surviving are two grandchildren; Stephen (Denise) Warrick and Danille (Curtis) Cornett. One great granddaughter, Madeline Warrick and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Joe was preceded in death by thirteen sisters; Stella, Nettie, Atha, Laura, May, Mary, Lettie, Sabrina, Lake, Opal, Cora, Wilma and Anna Sue. Five brothers; Willie, D.V., John, Otho and Can.
