Obituary for James "Jim" Duncan
James "Jim" Duncan, son of the late Verna Duncan was born in Letcher County, Kentucky January 15, 1930. He entered eternal life Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 82 years, 7 months, and 22 days of age at the time of his passing. James was married to the late Fairy Mae Duncan, she passed away July 1, 2004. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a prisoner of War for over 32 months. He was on the Board of Governors of the Letcher County Veterans Memorial Museum. James was a member of the Whitesburg VFW post # 5829 and Whitesburg American Legion post # 152 and was also a member of the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church and attended the Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving son, Buger Duncan of Whitco, Kentucky. Special friends, Pat Richardson of Mayking, Kentucky and Amanda Parker of Whitco, Kentucky. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
