James Duncan "Jim" Hampton, son of the late Duncan and Hazel Sturgill Hampton was born February 14, 1953 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky being 66 years, 8 months and 19 days at the time of his passing.
James married Lisa Diane Carter Hampton on November 2, 1996. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by one son, James (Donna) Hampton Jr. of Depauw, Indiana. Two sisters; Mary Ann King of Florence, Kentucky and Julie (Bob) Johnson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Two grandchildren; Addie Hampton and Jack Phelps. A father-in-law, Clarence Carter Jr. of Eolia, Kentucky. A sister-in-law, Kathy (Harold) Kilbourne of Wise, Virginia.
Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Madonna Mathes.
