JB Fleenor,93, a beloved figure in The Mayking, Kentucky community, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 10, 2025. JB was born on Julyt 18, 1932 in Seco, Kentucky. He was the son of William Wesley (Pat) Fleenor and Lydia Margaret Dugger Fleenor.
JB was preceded in death by 7 brothers: Cam, Lon, Clarence, Joe, Fred, Johnny, and Ray Fleenor, and 5 sisters; Mabel Sexton, Hazel Adams, Frankie Brown, Evelyn Kincer, and Irene Payne.
As a young man, JB moved to Chicago to live and work. In 1985, he left Chicago and part of his heart to move back to Letcher County to be near his sister Evelyn. They had a special bond and he became a significant and permanent part of her home and family. But, he never forgot Chicago. He loved telling stiries and talking about his time in "Chi-Town."
Jb loved working on cars and had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of vintage cars from the 40's and 50's. He had a beautiful singing voice and lovedold style country music. His family always requested him to sing and loved when when he would sing old Hank Williams tunes. JB was full of life and joy. He loved kids and to laugh, joke, and socialize. He never lost interest in the things and people he loved.
JB was a lifelong bachelor, but he is survived by generations of nieces and nephews who mourn the passing of their beloved Uncle.
