Obituary for Helen D. Bates
Helen Doris Bates, daughter of the late Enice and Flora Witt Banks was born in Roxana, Kentucky October 5, 1934. She entered eternal life Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky being 87 years, 6 months and 26 days of age at the time of her passing.
Helen was married to the late Elmer Bates December 19, 1964. He passed away February 8, 2014. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew her. Helen was a lady who made an impact on all her family, friends and everyone she met.
She is survived by a son, Chad Bates of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Two daughters; Lee (Larry) Adams of Whitco, Kentucky and Lisa (Dexter) Campbell of Letcher, Kentucky. Two brothers; Darel Banks of Waynesville, Ohio and James Banks of Carlisle, Ohio. Three sisters; Norma Striken of Cleveland, Ohio, Nancy Sue Kincer of Mayking, Kentucky and Malissa Caudill of Cowan, Kentucky.
Also surviving are four grandchildren; Brittney, Zachary (Carley), Mia, and Cooper. One great granddaughter, Emery and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Helen was preceded in death by two brothers; Billy Ray Banks and Eli Bernard Banks.
