Obituary for Gary L. Turner
Gary Lynn Turner, son of the late Duard and Dorothy Kilgore Turner was born March 15, 1953 in Coeburn, Virginia. He entered eternal life Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky being 68 years, 7 months and 11 days of age at the time of his passing.
Gary married Karen "Katie" Sparks on December 16, 2006 in Sevierville, Tennessee. He enjoyed working on his cabin, hunting, fishing, cooking and was an avid Alabama football fan. He loved going out on the porch every morning and saying, "Hello big eye in the sky, thank you Lord for this beautiful morning". He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen "Katie" Turner of McRoberts, Kentucky. Two sons; Jason (Amanda) Phillips of Morristown, Tennessee and Joe (D.D.) Phillips of Jackhorn, Kentucky. Two daughters; Dreama (Mike McMurray) Turner of Church Hill, Tennessee and Cindy (Jeff) Burns of Bristol, Tennessee. Two brothers; Terry Turner of Coeburn, Virginia and Alan Turner of Abingdon, Virginia. Four sisters; Doris Nutter of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Linda Wells of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Rita Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina and Nora (Deb) Kiser of Abingdon, Virginia.
