Obituary for Flora Amburgey
Flora Amburgey, daughter of the late Troy Thomas and Dora Pigman Thomas was born in Red Star, Arkansas May 20, 1917. She entered eternal life Monday, September 1, 2014 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 97 years, 3 months and 12 days of age at the time of her passing. Flora married Willard Polly in 1938 he passed away December 24, 1944. She later married Kelly Amburgey in 1952 he passed away March of 1987. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and a great friend to all that knew her. Flora was a member of the Full Gospel Church of neon, Kentucky. She is survived by her loving daughters, Dora (Trubie) Cornett of Dryfork, Kentucky, Anna (Jack) Tyree of Marion, Ohio. Two sons, Robert (Sheila) Amburgey of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Roosevelt (Helen) Amburgey of Celina, Tennessee. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren. One special friend, Doris Hunsucker and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Flora is preceded in death four sisters, Bertha, Lola, Marylou, Cora Rhoda. four brothers, Robert, Lemuel, Houston and Arthur. One daughter, Wilma Lucas. One son, Carl Amburgey. Grandsons, Stevie Cornett and Kelly Yonts. Grandson-in-law, Michael Baker. Great-great grandson, Seth Warlick.
