Obituary for Fleta Mae Brown
Fleta Mae Brown, daughter of the late Johnny and Mattie Mullins Hatton was born at Breathitt County, Kentucky, May 22, 1930. She entered eternal life Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 93 years, 4 months and 5 days of age at the time of her passing.
Fleta was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and great friend to all that knew her. She was married Chester Brown on February 4, 1947. He passed away December 13, 2003. Fleta was a member of the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Batist Church in Blackey, Kentucky. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, but most of all spending time with her family and friends is what she enjoyed most.
She is survived by three loving sons, Bruce Brown of Van Kentucky, Chester Neil Brown of Madison, Indiana and David Allen Brown of Thornton, Kentucky, a daughter, Margaret Rose of Whitco, Kentucky, a sister, Alberta Barker of Whitco, Kentucky.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Fleta Mae was preceded in death by a daughter, Ernestine Brown, a son, Billy Ray Brown, a sister, Ruthie Hatton, seven brothers, Chester Lee Hatton, Virgil Hatton, Senior Hatton, Clayton Hatton, Roy Hatton, William Hatton, Jr and James Hatton.
