Obituary for Evesta Hammonds
Evesta Hammonds, daughter of the late Harrison and Parilee Ison Banks was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on March 19, 1926. She entered eternal life Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky being 88 years, 4 months and 12 days of age at the time of her passing. Evesta was married to the late Warren Hammonds, he passed away on November 5, 1988. She was a loving mother, grand-mother and friend to all that knew her. She is survived one son, Wendell E. (Nina) Banks of Crown Point, Indiana. Virginia Mae Gaddis of Charlestown, Indiana. Iris J. Decker (John) of Bronston, Kentucky, Darlene Cook of Greenville, Indiana and Belinda Hall of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Thirteen grandchildren; Carla, Diana, Tom, Tammy, Jill, Benjamin, Kyle, Jonathan, Jeremy, Katie, Kristopher, Jennifer and Kelly. Eleven great grandchildren; Jennifer, Rebecca, Lee, Mecie, Courtney, Sydney, Kayla, Jonathan II, Kaylee, Jacob and Kinley. One great-great grandson, Kyle. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Evesta was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Hopkins and ten brothers and sisters.
