Emitt was married to Juanita Adams on June 21, 1945. He had been in coal business for 40 years. Emitt and his son Larry started Everidge Funeral Home in July 17, 1986. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II. Emitt was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Everidge of Colson, Kentucky. One son, Larry (Ute) Everidge of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Two sisters; Samantha Hall of Colson, Kentucky and Wilma Preece of Hindman, Kentucky.
Also surviving are six grandchildren; Jeffrey, Brian, Tyrone, Sarah, Stefanie, and Jennifer. Eleven great grandchildren; Tyler, Dustin, Jared, Sierra, Julia, Landyn, Madison, Noah, Lucas, Joshua and Bennett. One great great grandson, Wyatt. Two special friends and caregivers; Oma, Mindy, and Carolena.
Emitt was preceded in death by a son, Dewayne Everidge. One grandson, Kevin Lane Everidge. Four sisters; Gladys Holbrook, Polly Ann Gibson, Dicie Jena and Nella Williams. One brother, L.B. Everidge.
