Obituary for Ellis Obrene Maggard
Ellis Obrene Maggard, son of the late Lawrence and Susan Back Maggard was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on March 12, 1929. He entered eternal life Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky being 89 years, 7 months and 2 days of age at the time of his passing.
Ellis married Betty Sue Bowman on January 18, 1986. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #754, Oleka Temple Shrine and taught school for several years in Letcher County school system and through Kentucky.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Sue Maggard of Lexington, Kentucky. One son, Ellis O. (Lisa) Maggard of Eolia, Kentucky. One daughter, Oliva Sprouse of Georgetown, Kentucky. Three grandchildren, John Bedwell, Corde Sprouse and Emily Sprouse.
Also survivng are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Bedwell. Two brothers, Gleason and Sam Maggard.
