Obituary for Edward Lumpkins
Edward Lumpkins, son of the late Ruben and Mary moore Lumpkins was born on May 10, 1927 in Letcher County, Kentucky. He entered eternal life Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital being 86 years, 2 months and 25 days of age at the time of his passing. He was married to Janice Stamper Lumpkins in 1948, whom preceded him in death September 16, 2002. He was a member of the Letcher Independent Baptist church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by one son, Edward Wayne (Gwen) Lumpkins of Hallie, Kentucky. Four daughters; Una Cook (Clyde) of Isom, Kentucky, Kuba Curtis (Andrew) of Sweetser, Indiana, Faye Praiter (Ralph) of Hamilton, Ohio and Judy Morton of Isom, Kentucky. Also surviving are Thirteen grandchildren, Host of great grandchildren ,two great, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Edward was preceded in death by three brothers; Walker, Roy and John. Five sisters; Ruby Jewel Kelly, Eula Lumpkins, Beulah Cornett, Bessy Lumpkins and Vernie Combs.
