Obituary for Earnest Maggard
Earnest Maggard, son of the late Jesse Randall and Lydia Collins Maggard was born in Sackett, Kentucky October 27, 1922. He entered eternal life Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Sun City Hospice Center in Sun City Center, Florida being 95 years, 4 months and 12 days of age at the time of his passing.
Earnest was married to the late Roberta Mae Bentley, December 13, 1952. She passed away August 26, 1993. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the United States Army. Earnest was a member of the Whitesburg V.F.W. Post 5829, Lonesome Pine Masonic Lodge #884, Whitesburg American Legion Post #152. He enjoyed making wood crafts and wood carving. He retired from Cooper Energy after sixteen years of service.
Earnest is survived by one daughter, Judy Lynn Maggard of Springfield, Ohio. One sister, Nancy Collins of Isom, Kentucky. A sister-in-law, Peggy Maggard of Isom, Kentucky and a brother-in-law, Tandy Adams of Connersville, Indiana.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends in Ohio and Florida to mourn his passing.
Earnest was preceded in death by brothers and sister-in-laws; Herb and Eulah Maggard, Bill and Eva Maggard. Brothers: Jim Maggard and Jesse Randall Maggard Jr. Sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Elvin Caudill. Sisters: Ruth Rowland, Irene Maggard, Mary Rose Adams, Iva Lou Franklin and brother-in-law, Denver Collins.
